Thank you, thank you, thank you all for sharing your mommy confessions. We all have them - it's just some are more comfortable disclosing them than others. I admit I've faked a few (cough, cough) illnesses to get some alone time in my bedroom.
I have one toddler. It is not bad enough that she is super stubborn, but I tend to make it harder for myself... I started off with a really strict TV policy, one hour a day. Then, we travelled from NY to San Francisco. Our schedule was so packed, I let her watch Dora when ever and how ever. BIG MISTAKE. BIG. Now that we are back home she pitches fits if I don't let her watch TV. She's two and a half, I can't imagine what 16 is going to be like.
Can you see my hand raised? on all those bad mommy charges. The use of a baby monitor was how I could socialize in my neighborhood, camping trips, family camp ....it was the monitor sitter. It is great to be honest BAD mommies thanks ladies for being REAL
I can't believe I'm not the only one that does these things. I'm 32 full-time Insur.Agt. & Mom, I have a 9yr old in 3rd and 4yr old in preK-4. I get home between 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. I'm still trying to figure out how to have time to do EVERYTHING in 2 hours before they go to bed (8 & 8:30) and 1 hour in the morning before they go to school. THERE IS NO WAY! It's like adjusting your bills, you have to adjust your time. Tonight we go to Church, tomorrow you get a bath so "DON'T ROLL AROUND ON THE PLAYGROUND TODAY!" And ya'll thought ya'll were bad moms, I'm still trying to figure out how to make sure they get a bath every night, instead of EVERYOTHER NIGHT! I know that's really bad, but don't you feel better about the teeth brushing thing?!
