Love Ann Curry, she is soft spoken and very polite, met Her in New York at the today show venue, she is just so classy. Love the whole crew, use to love Kati Couric and thought she was irreplaceable, but Meredith has done a great job, she is spectacular!

Now do I get on the show because I say such nice things...kidding.

Was I hearing things this morning? I thought they were going to interview the soccer player who showed such bad sportsmanship, but all they did was show the video...I was all set to hear what she had to say for herself, but all I got was a repeat of the video that has been on television all weekend..what happened, or was just I just mistaken in what I thought I heard?

As a former player and now a "soccer mom" for over 25 years, I see the actions of Ms. Lambert as totally unacceptable. I don't know if she should be expelled as a student, but she should be suspended for the rest of her collegiate career from any sport, which would in effect take away any further athletic scholarship funding she may be receiving.

It would be interesting to hear from other teams that have played against UNM to find out whether there have been other incidents that weren't caught on tape.

There is nothing to excuse her actions on the field. They were certainly unsportsmanlike. I don't think that you have looked at the video closely, because there are several times that she was retaliating for actions taken by her opponents. The ponytail pulling was after her shorts and underwear are yanked up, and the punch in the back was after getting an elbow to the chest. I'm sure there are other instances of it being retaliation. Maybe aggrevating someone with anger issues was the strategy of the team she was playing. But, expulsion from school for these actions is absurd! I know of many actions that are illegal and not expulsionary and all out fighting, which this is not, is not one of them.

I have questions - What I believe I did see and please review video? The player in white her left arm went down behind her and it looked as if she grabed the player in red's thigh. Then I also noticed that the player in white again left arm jabed the player in red's breast. Please look again. No, everyone gets into compeition mode and I'm sure this isn't the only time it has happened. I heard one player say it's a game enjoy it! Well not if your out for points - not if you want the team to win. So to me that player wasn't serious and that's cool. But to win, whether Yankees Baseball, football or basketball - you want to WIN!

I might add that Basketball is one nasty game!

As a Soccer mom of many years, my daugher is now in her 30's, soccer games are no longer "lady like" they have not been for years. Does anyone notice that the BYU player was pulling on not only the shorts but appears to be pulling on undergarments as well? This was a typical soccer game, these things on all the time. Expulsion from school is absurd. It is interscholastic sports. On the football field the boys also act unsportsmanlike but you do not say expel them. Equal treatment for both sexes please.

She should be suspended from the team for her behavior on the field, but that is all. BYU/UNM is a fierce rivalry, this was a semi-final match, it was a very aggressive game from the start and Lambert is getting all of the blame for this. She shouldn't have pulled the girls hair, but she shouldn't be the focus of all of the negative attention. The world isn't cut and dry and neither should be the reactions and punishments for this girl. She has been suspended from the team, she had her life turned upside down because of the unnecessary national attention and now people expect her to be punished further? Maybe if people took their pent-up aggression out in more constructive ways neither Lambert nor all of the people calling for her to be burned at the stake would be acting like this.

According to the paper today this girl has been suspended indefinitely from the soccer team. I think her actions on the field were over the top, but to be expelled from school for this, I don't think so.

Didn't hear about anyone wanting to expell University of Florida player, Brain Spikes for eye gouging a downed Georgia Tech player a few weeks ago. He was suspended for ONE game.

Please let us not over react to these behaviors, but let us hope that they learn from their mistakes.

Also where were the refs here, a yellow card, should have been a red card and player taken out of game period.

Would be interested in UNM coaches reaction to this incident. S(he) is the one who should be scrutinized here. S(he) could have taken her out of the game when this action was observed, call or no call.

Where were the refs and the coaches?! Somewhere along the way this player's actions were condoned and maybe even encouraged as aggressive, assertive play by those who have coached her. You don't get to that point without someone (i.e. coaches, parents,etc.) noticing her aggressive play. It should have been called by her authority figures along time ago. While I do not condone her behavior, the refs are responsible for setting the tone of the game, and her behavior should have been red carded early in play. I agree that she should face consequences related to her status on the team and possibly her academic scholarship, but it should not affect her ability to get an education.

This girl should be off the team for good - no question about it. She should also be subjected to steroid testing as her behavior definitely warrants it. She attacked without provocation. I'd hate to see what she would do to opponents if she were playing softball or other sports with equipment that could be used as weapons.

Attending any specific college is a privilege not a right (that is why you have to apply). Her actions reflect poorly on the school especially considering she was at a school event.

I would not fault the school at all for informing her she would not be asked to return.

I don't think anything could justify the player's reaction. But like I just said it was a provoked reaction. She should get a suspention for a few important games, and thas all.

The whole situation is blown out of proportion, and wouldn't be a big deal if it were a man.

She should not be expelled from school but should be suspended from participating in all sports. Pulling on underwear is one thing but this girl uses unsportsmanslike physical violence in which someone could be seriously hurt.

Has anyone taken into account the fact that the BYU girls are doing things to Liz? It wasn't unprovoked...it was entirely provoked. The girl who got her ponytail pulled had her hand up Liz's shorts! Forget hair-pulling, that BYU girl is NASTY. She deserved it.

No she should not be expelled from school but she should be dumped from the Team.  What  an ugly individual.   Very, very bad sportsmanship.  Gees, I hope she is not going into the public relations field.  Pretty scary person!

I would hope they would take her off the soccer team. If she exhibts this kind of behavior on the soccer field, she has no business being there, what kind of violent behavior will she display in hr personal life. That makes me concerned.

As a former soccer player who has played at the Division I level, I believe my friend Liz, did go a little far with pulling the hair but it happens ALL THE TIME in soccer. People should watch the whole game, I watched it live and BYU was just as rough. Hitting the UNM goalie when Kelli had the ball in her hands. Why are we not seeing videos of that? It is a two sided story and Liz is the only one getting faults for it. I do not think she should be kicked out of school, why?? Soccer has nothing to do with school. The girl wasn't even hurt. common people have some sense in soccer. Why doesn't the football player at Oregon get kicked out of school? oh yeah...he is a man. Why don't we talk about the threats and extemely harsh emails and phone calls Liz has received. The moms that are worried about their children playing soccer, believe me, it gets more physical as they get into the higher levels. Everyone should take into account that this was a very important game, when you get into such a pressurized game, anything can happen. The crowd was so rowdy and rude to the UNM players, yelling at Liz all through out the game. I think ESPN needs to broadcast the whole game so everyone can see what was going on or stop talking about it.

This young lady should never be able to PLAY SOCCER again this is way over the LINE. She has anger issue's that should be resolved. She should not be tossed from the school she will need her schooling to get her through LIFE , if she can't handle this presser she will never make it out in this TUFF world. Why did the today show "report" like they were going to do the story and just

tease us with the video?????

I just read everyone's comments and now I feel I should review the video. Many are saying we missed the provoked "just-as-nasty" behaviors that were done to Liz first, in addition to many other violent moves in that game that did not involve her. I'm remembering now, there are ALWAYS 2 sides to every story.

And as far as the TODAY show teasing us by implying there would be an actual interview today, even if something changed (like Liz backing out) the Show had a responsibility to communicate that.
