Is Sarah Palin a good role model for women?

The former beauty queen rose to become an Alaskan governor and a vice-presidential candidate – the second woman to ever run on a major U.S. party ticket -- all while raising five children. Is she a feminist who proves you can do it all? Or did she let the women of America down? Share your thoughts.

she is way too conservative, and not as educated as most women politicians.

No. She lacks in-depth intelligence, grace, & class. She has nearly set us back 100 years with her babbling, tunnel vision & narcissism.

She would be a better role model if she knew her stuff. If she was educated in the issues, she would be a better role model - maybe...

I'm amazed at the way the media can spin anything/anybody! She did the best job she was allowed to do. Not a feminist & I wasn't let down!

She's not a good role model for any human, but perhaps for rattlesnakes.

I would expect a woman who is supposed to represent other women to possess more eloquency in her speech and comportment.

Anti-women's rights women aren't good role models.

They don't hate her, they laugh because a coherent sentence is more than she can handle. I had high hopes for McCain & her until I heard her speak & every time she did it went further down hill. What a joke.

          Poppycock.

I'm a moderate Republican and I think Palin is ridiculous; and she lost my vote for McCain. She can barely put an intelligible sentence together, is a quitter, is a poor mother, is anti-women's rights and she likes to air her dirty family laundry in public. Seriously, who wants a Jerry Springer candidate in the WH? lol

If you want to see what kind of mother she is, look at her kids. Enough said.

Abstinence-only education really works, doesn't it?

No way. I would hope my daughter would pick someone with brains to look up to. With her on board there was simply no way I could vote for McCain. I don't know how she climbed her way up but it was painfully obvious during the campaign that it wasn't with her brains. How on earth do you go to a debate with no prepared responses to the major issues expected to be discussed???

I think she is a good role model. She speaks just as intelligently as any other politician out there. None of them are rocket scientists. People just want to bash her because she is attractive and she is a woman. As for Bristol, every family has it's problems. The Palin's are pro-life and their beautiful family is a positive example of that. There is so much hate spewed her way and the public wants to see her fail. As far as the media dogging her it's no surprise, if you're conservative you're automatically seen as evil and a target. Why would anyone want to go into public life these days, especially a woman with a family. First they attacked her intelligence, than her family and targeted her children while Obama's family was left alone. What a double standard. And as far as abstinence only programs not working, any teenager that has the guts to have the baby after getting pregnant has much better morality than the many teenagers who have abortions because they are too afraid to face the consequences of their actions. There are so many childless couples who would love to adopt a baby. For parents to stand by their children no matter what is a true testament of love and family values. It would be much easier to get an abortion for the child and no one would ever know. Good for them for actually living out their beliefs instead of just talking the talk like so many people.
