Never had been a Martha fan. Love Meredith and know that anything she is involved in would be the best any of us could get.

If I were to like apple or any other fruit pies in which case I don't like fruit pies I would probably pick Martha's pie over Meredith's pie.

I have never been a great fan of Martha's cooking. Not saying any thing bad about her. I think Meredith would make more of a country style kind of pie. :)

Not a fan of Martha. Besides, her recipes are always far too complicated and why the need for fancy-schmancy. Brisee - what is that? Apple pie - we ALL know what that is. Thanks Meredith!

Martha is a classy professional and she has tested and tried all kinds of pie recipes to come up with the very best one! Meredith on the other hand has no class.

Meredith's pie has family history and love in it. I would definitely try hers!

I like Meredith's because is was quick and simple...do not like long drawn out and difficult ingredients.

Meredith's recipe is quick and simple...I don't like receipes that are too involved.

Martha Stewart's pie looked too professional....I'm sure it was good; however, I believe one would get more flavor from Meredith's.......unless all you want are apples! Let us be honest here, I'm sure I'd eat either one.

Meredith's pie LOOKS like a home-baked apple pie and I'm sure there would be a better mix of flavor in hers. Martha's, on the other hand, looked too "bakery-bought" and woulde have far too many apples for my taste! Any recipe our mamas used are sure to be winners!

without a doubt - I'd try Meredith's. In fact - where can I get the recipe?

The lemon in Martha's is a big turn-off for me - I'd rather have a normal size yummy pie than a mountain of lemon flavored apples.

Meredith gets to take the ribbon home!!

Meredith gets to take the ribbon home! A normal piece of down-home yummy pie is far better than a mountain of lemon flavored apples. What's the purpose of a mountain of apples?? You don't get the right proportion of filling/crust that way. It may have the wow factor on appearance, but that's probably the end of it's appeal.

Where can I get Meredith's recipe??

Meredith - your pie is the same apple pie I make but it came from my grandmother. Watching her as a little girl is such a pleasant memory. She was and exceptional baker and what I enjoyed the most, was the left over pie crust which made great tarts - I got to make them, and add the homemade jam, Yummy! If presentation counts - this is my thought - something that is more expensive to make and is bigger in size does not necessarily mean it will taste better. Looks are so deceiving. Thanks for keeping the traditional pie in the competition. We need more tradition in our lives. We can learn a lot from our mom's, grandma's and great grandma's recipes. We still need to hand down those recipes so they don't get lost or forgotten. Kudos to Meredith.

Can Meredith's be made now and frozen for Thanksgiving?

                              Meredith deserves the ribbon!!

I'd rather have a delicious homemade - normal size slice of pie, than a mountain on lemon flavored pies.

Besides - with a mountain of apples, you don't nearly the right amount of crust for the apples. You'll just get a bunch of bakes apples. No competition here.

                                  Meredith,

I have never baked anything in my life but I was so inspired by your bake-off with Martha that I printed out your recipe, went out and purchased the ingredients and baked your Mother's apple pie recipe. It was delicious! And I might ad, it was obvious from Matt's expression, that yours was the winner!
