Yes. If she has what it takes I'm with her all the way.

No. I wouldn't want my child to have to endure the pain and pressure involved at that elite level of competition.

I'm not sure. I'll cross that bridge when and if I see my child rising to that level, but I do worry about pushing him too much.

The countdown to Vancouver is on and athletes around the world are preparing to compete in the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. For most it's taken years of hard work and hardship to get here. Would you encourage your child to shoot for this elite level of competition?

Being in Vancouver Canada near Whistler you have to just hear the
enthusiasm and dreams of kids who like the Olympic Athletes want
to be.

It also depends on the sport - nordic skiing yes - snowboard cross, no!

I'm a fourth generation curler, and I have no doubt the my 4-year-old daughter will be the fifth generation.  2022 (or 2026) Winter Olympics would be perfect, but not necessary.  :)

My daughter is a figure skater. She loves doing it and has a lot of fun. I would love to see her go to the Olympics, but I'm also realistic that I don't have the money and that Only 2 or 3 of the best skaters in the United States can go to the Olympics.
