Definitely YES~~ He was the one who broke the law and kidnapped them. It would have been different if they were divorced but no he should be prosecuted and not get away with it. She should fight for those children, even if they don't want her in their lives right now, later they will see she did want them and be willing to have a relationship with her as a mom.

As a mom, I have to put myself in the shoes of that mother whose children were taken from her all those years ago. (If she was a loving mother to begin with, of course...) How many nights did she lay awake wondering if her children were safe, healthy, and happy? How many children did she watch grow up around her, realizing all of the moments she missed, the nights she didn't get to tuck them in, the hugs and kisses she never got to give them or get from them? Have your arms ever ached to hold your child and you just couldn't do it? If you stop to think about the answer to any of these questions, especially if you are a mom, you'll realize the elation she felt when she finally found her children. Yes, she did the right thing....because the childrens' father did the wrong thing when he stole 15 years of motherhood from her and from those children.

The father was in the wrong obviously breaking the law and taking the children in the first place. Yes the mom should have reported it. He not only stole 15 years of childhood memories that she will never get back. He has intentionally put a strain on her relationship with her children. The children have lived with the father and whatever lies he has fed them from the get go and they do not fully understand what happened in the past or what is going on in the present. I am sure the children will be upset with her initially, but once the truth comes out, they will be able to put it be behind them and focus on healing and mending the relationship between mother and child.

The mother has a right to see her children or be given a chance to have relationship with them. Imagine what that mother must have gone through all these years, having her children kidnapped. The real villian here is the FATHER who denied those kids access to there biological mother & told them "god knows what" in lies about her. Yes the children will be mad with her for a little while, but I believe with professional help they can understand what happened to them & make up there own minds about who was right or wrong. As far as the FATHER go's, he needs to be dealt with accordingly with the courts system. He needs to go to jail for kidnapping, unless by some miracle he has proof that what he did is justified.

When she found her daughter she should have told her daughter that she needed to talk to her father. If he responded then she should have insisted that the kids spend time with her. At this point in their lives (at least 15 years old) most judges would allow the kids to choose who they would want to live with so cooperation would be better than confrontation. If he agreed it might be possible for the children to develop a positive relationship with their mother. By involving the police all she did was almost guarantee that the children will always hate her for punishing their "good guy". If, however, he refused to make the kids spend time with her then there would be no downside to involving the police.

The mother was correct in contacting the authorities. Perhaps the father was the one that would no longer let her daughter communicate with her; even though she may have wanted to.

I'm guessing that there is more to the story, but my answer is yes, contact authorities. Immediately. Do not initiate contact and let them do their job. Sad.

Not enough information to make an educated decision. Maybe that mother was abusive and that is why the father took them, we don't know the whole story. Mothers are'nt always "motherly" and June Cleaverish. Some are rotten. Maybe that mother was abusive to her kids when they were little and that's why the father took off with them. We don't know the whole story, and how can you form an educated opion when you don't have all the facts?????

If you read the entire article, the mother is indeed entitled to get her kids back. She was stolen from 15 years ago and the children were told lies about her. This man should never have contact with those kids again. He would then see what it was like for their mother. It looks like he has broken several laws since he transported them out of the country and then hid them in another state.

Perhaps the mother was bad.....perhaps the father was just evil.....either way the family was denied the right to know each other, and the mother was denied the right to tell her side to the court.

Yes she should fight for her kids. He took them illegally and when they come back to her or before, maybe someone should try to tell them that. Maybe he told them bad things about her (mother) when they were with him and convinced them that being with him was a better thing. Children only know what they are told sometimes especially if the person telling them is a parent. If it were the mother who took them he would have done the same.
