It was my daughters first day of K, and the bus didn't use the "name tag" system because of an "transportation mishap" or so i was told. Anyway, my child was on the bus for over 45 minutes, didn't know where to get off at, and neither did the driver - so she stayed on the bus. She saw a friend get off at her stop and recognized the area so started to get off, when that mother told her to stay on since this wasn't her stop. FINALLY, the bus made it to her stop, second to last of all stops, but by this point she was hysterically crying that she was lost and i had to get on the bus and carry her off. She was so scared to get on a bus again, i had to rearrange my work breaks to take her to and pick her up from school. I was so disheartened by the whole experiance because she was so excited for school and has wanted to ride the school bus since she was 2. We had other problems that year in the school so i moved out of the district and we have had a much better experience where we have been now for the last 5 years. I can even think about her having got off that bus, not knowing where she was or how to get home.
