The Economides family -- aka America's cheapest family -- visited TODAY to share more of their money-saving tips.
(And yes, that is their real name, in case you were wondering.)
America's cheapest family, the Economides, advises TODAY viewers on how to slash their budget in 2011 and gives tips for maintaining it, such as investing in cost-cutting tools and technology.
They say they spend only $350 a month on groceries, including food, toiletries and cleaning supplies. Among their tips: Use a crockpot, do your own yardwork, buy a large used freezer so you can buy and freeze food on sale. Their biggest tip: Make a family budget, and stick to it.
"Life is not about how good you look on the outside, it is about how healthy you are on the inside," Annette Economides advises.
Meredith Vieira was impressed: "That was a good one," she says.
