It's an age-old debate in mommy circles: When's the best time in your life to start having kids? Early in life, when you have more energy (and are more fertile, generally), or later on, when you're more established?

TODAY Moms contributor Alexa Aguilar has done it both ways -- she has a 14-year-old and a 14-month-old, with a 2-year-old in between. Which way does she think is better? Click here to read her blog post.

And tell us what you think: What's the best age for a woman to start having kids?

Preferably mid-to-late 20's when you are likeliest to have a healthy baby. Better if you already have a college degree and a stable career

Late 20s or early thirties. Energy, patience, and you're not as selfish because you've done what you wanted. Parenting is all about the kid

I do think this is a stupid question. I love my three kids, I would have had them at any age.

The best age is when there is a stable "family" to bring the child into. Kids should grow up in a two-parent family that is self-supportin

There is no right age to be a good mom. Being a good mom is what the individual brings to the table, not her age or jean size.

You use your best eggs by the time you are 25. Why take the risk of waiting until your eggs are old and the risk to your child is greater?

I had one at 26 and one at 37. I actually feel the second child has kept me feeling "younger", if not young.

I had both my girls in my late 30s. I am much more patient. I believe I have taught them so much more than I would have if I were younge

Late 20s was perfect for me! I'm still young enough to recover from hyperemetic pregnancies, but old enough to be somewhat stable..

You need less time for education in your 30's and can devote more time to raising children.

My sister always resented me because I was 10 years younger and got all our Mom's attention where she got nannies! I had a fun Mom.

In my own family the older mother's are hands down the better mothers. The ones close to 40 are even better.

My mom had me when she was in her 40's. Other kids thought she was my grandmother and she simply couldn't relate to me at all. It was hell

I was 36 when I had my first child. I can say with certainty that people in their 20s rarely have the maturity to raise children properly.

The best mom is the one who can support her children materially, spiritually and emotionally no matter what her age!

I have a 4 and 11 year old. I had more energy at 27 for my first than at 35 for the second, but I savored the experience more when older.

Late 20's, while you have energy and after you've gotten a lot smarter than you were in your early 20's!!!

My first was born when I was 35 and second when I was 42. I had more energy with the first child but much more patience than in my 20s.
