One thing is for sure about the Duggars' next child, their 20th: He or she will have a J name. Michelle Duggar told TODAY Moms they're thinking about the name Julie for a girl, while Joel and Jared are front-runners for boys.

Before breaking the news of Michelle's pregnancy live on TODAY, Michelle and Jim Bob confirmed to TODAY Moms that they'll stick with the family tradition of giving their children names that begin with J. Of course, when they started that tradition, they had no idea they'd end up with 20!

Full story: The Duggars are expecting their 20th child

So far, they have: Joshua, Jana, John-David, Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, Jeremiah, Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie.

What will the next name be? The Duggar parents say the decision will be a group project. "We'll have to go back and have a family discussion about the names again," Michelle told TODAY Moms.

The mother said that she was surprised to be expecting again.

I do not understand.

If this family does not believe in birth control why should Mrs. Dugger be surprised that she is expecting another child?

An approrpriate name for he 20th child would be: "This-is-the-last-one!"

Well, for one, I've watched the Duggars since their first special "14 Kids and Another On the Way" and I know that they don't use government assistance of any kind. Michelle is healthy and as long as they can afford another baby, why does it bother people so much. As for a name, what about Jeffrey??

That's irresponsible nonsense. Will they let God decide if their newborn should live if born sickly like the last one or will they leave it to doctors again? Blaming your religion for acting in such a selfish, irresponsible manner is sickening. There is no reason for anyone to have 20 children in this day and age.

To all those that believe that the world is overpopulating,

We have the ability to feed and exponentially higher population than we do now. If Africa, just Africa, put to use modern agricultural practices, they could by themselves feed the world several times over. It isn't the lack of food that people starve. Now as to ethics of having that many children is up to the parents. No one has the right to say different.

Go to youtube to get your questions answered. the titles are: 2.1 Kids stable population. and Overpopulation is a myth.

Enjoy. We are in so much danger!

You "God" people are just friggin' idiots. Does God whisper in your ear regularly & tell you what to do? well then, please go to your closest mental health clinic - they have some special Jesus Juice to inject you with...... Isa'dna, you are a complete idiot. You think the people who live in Africa haven't tried - ever heard of a little thing called hostile environment & how hard it is to grow anything there or do you think they LIVE TO STARVE? Do you have any passing grades at that community college or online "college" that is even above D-?? Yeah, eventually they will grow crops there, agricultural hybrids of course..... Oh wait, that's right....all you have to do is put up grocery stores/chain supermarkets & the food falls out of the sky & falls onto the shelves so perfectly. Gee, our weather in the U.S.A. screwed up the production of how many fruits and vegetables out there & drove the price up. You wrote "It isn't the lack of food that people starve." -- GEE rocket scientist tell us how they starve cause they want to & continue to share your blatantly oblivious ignorance with the rest of the world.

Thank you. Some people need an education. What about all the starving children ???? Hello ! they are REAL ....right now....and not only in Africa. In the US alone, more and more people are homeless as their kids eat in shelters and soup kitchens. The Duggards are making good money with their reality show so they feel they can afford litters. These kids education seems to stop at high school level. They are home schooled and have no clue as what they may do as they get older. I guess follow their parents footsteps and overpopulate the region. They have a wake-up call coming....when their show gets cancelled. They have an addiction to adding kids as they feel pressure from public expectation. Sick....sick.

Just FYI, the issues Michelle had that caused Josie to be born so early (preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome) are actually far, far more common in 1st time moms. In fact, preeclampsia was once commonly called The Disease of First Pregnancy. It's just a fluke that it happened to her then and had nothing at all to do with the number of children. In fact, I started developing them with my first baby at just 22 weeks and although I held out for a little while longer, she came very early and spent a long time in the hospital just like Josie. It bugs me when people put her down for having preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome as if it were all her fault. It can and does happen to anyone.

Makes me wonder, Do each and every one of those children get paid independently of their parents for their part in the show or do the parents get control of all the income to do with as they wish? I should think that they should have used up all of their insurance allowance long ago, Oh, the tax payers cover 100 percent coverage for life! I wish I had that kind of coverage. I have been at my job for 37 years and I still have to pay a large chunk of my medical insurance as well as deductibles etc.... Plus I wonder if with the new laws on health insurance, are the kids covered until they are 26 years old, so if they start having kids at 18 does his insurance paid for by the tax payers cover them and their children as well?

          @Laura-

You obviously don't know very much about this family, or you would know that they are entirely self-sufficient. They are not on welfare, and the government is not paying for their insurance. This is not the same case as the Octo-Mom, where she couldn't take care of one child. This family can take care of their children. I have no problem with people who have the means to care for children having them. They aren't causing me any problems, like the illegal Mexican aliens who come over into American soil, have their babies, and then get to stay here and have all of us pay for them to live because their babies are now American citizens. Spout your venom on people who are a drain to society. As far as I can see, the Duggars don't deserve what people are saying.

They almost lost the last child. Is it going to take one dieing before they finally stop? Or she might die and leave selfish Jim Bob to raise all those kids himself. The female body isn't invincable. 20 kids? I think they are both addicted to the attention.

Oh no, Karen. If they lose one it will be "gods will" and they'll get tons of sympathy because of "Gods decision." 9 months later, the Mrs. will be knocked up again and crowing about it. Jim Bob would do any solo raising either if something happened to his brood mare - that job would fall to the oldest unmarried kids.

I grew up in an evangelical church, and my mom always hated when one of her lady friends passed away, because she knew the husband/widower would be married again within weeks. It happened quite often. It was like the man had already settled on the next wife before the first one was gone. BTW, the wives who were widows seemed to not remarry. I hope the mom of this brood takes very good care of herself, otherwise their will be a new, much younger "mom" and lots more kids.

They definitely appear to be addicted to the attention, but WHY are they getting so much attention? Because their silly show is watched by lots of people, evidently. They're supposedly independently wealthy, but maybe by this point they need the money from the show to support their litter. I wonder if they think God doesn't expect responsible decisions from them.....like use what He let science develop to stop having more and more babies. Not one of that litter could have had enough individual attention from its parents. So if each of this 20 goes on to have 20 or their own that will be 400 grandchildren for them. Even though Jim Bob and whatshername can support the 20 they have, that money surely can't stretch far enough to raise the next 400! They get married early and don't get an education, judging by the one married son, so there's no way they will make enough money on their own to support litters. Disgusting!

Really the one's being so negative about this family would do well to mind your own business. This family supports their selves 100%. This family raises responsible young people. They have better morals and values than 80% of this country sad but true! If you want to worry about people having babies how about you worry about the ones who are on welfare who keep having kids so they can keep and get more benefits that are draining this country hmmm! As for what the female body can accomplish a healthy woman can have numerous children. My brothers grandmother had I believe 13 children of her own and they were birthed at HOME!!! My own grandmother gave birth to 6 and adopted 2 more and myself I have carried and had five beautiful children! Large families aren't for everyone it's their choice and as long as they are taking care of their children, loving them and teaching them right from wrong then none of you have a right or reason or a say so in what they do with their lives!

You should all be ashamed of yourselves for the things you are saying. I pray this family never reads your neg comments.. My Great Grandmother had 12 girls and a boy and my mother had 5 boys and 3 girls. and neither of them was ever on assistance. You people need to worry about all the women and young girls who keep popping them out just to stay on welfare. I am willing to bet most of those girls don't even know all the baby daddy's for all the kids they have popped out. I think most of the comments on here are just disgusting.

Oh, I would LOVE to be one of 19, soon to be 20 children [especially if I was female], so I can have no childhood, no free time, no friends outside of my siblings, no plans for a higher education [I am sure THAT idea is squashed early on], no goals of my own except to marry and carry on the traditions demanded by my parents, and, basically, no free will. I want to wake every morning knowing I will be cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, taking care of my brothers and sisters, etc. so I will never have time for nonsensical, non-practical past times, such as my own private corner to read the books I want to read, a movie that I want to see, music that I want to listen to, discover art at a museum, see a play, see the ocean, daydream. No, I want to live in the world I was born into - to work my childhood away with chores and help raise my brothers and sisters just a year or two younger than I.

If you look on their website, the career goals of most of the children include going to college. Have you actually seen the show? They do tons of fun activities, including weeks-long trips to foreign countries, museums, visiting friends, going to restaurants, traveling to different states to see the sights....the list goes on. And they do have free time and have fun at home. Honestly, I would have loved to be one of the Duggars growing up rather than my own typical, socially-acceptable two-kid family. Once my brother got into video games and no longer wanted to play with me, my life was pretty dull and lonely. Same thing with my friends. A house full of family and fun is better than a family where mom and dad are both at work until 6 PM and just watch TV and then go to bed when they get home, even if a bigger family means more work.

The Duggars are Blessed and It is their choice to have a large family, seems to me they can afford to raise them, they are polite and well rounded children. Some people dont understand . why have so many? My concern would be the risk of having children after the Age 40 . But if they are healthy and Mom feels like she can , Then why not? People will look back at this family and some would wished that their family was close and loved as much as the Duggars were.. . They must be doing something right.Just because Others think Differently but What business is it of yours anyway? GO Duggars!! Maybe you can teach certain people Compassion, Love and Understanding about having a caring loving Family..

some say very large families are wonderful.. what is not so wonderful is that unfortunately these younger ones will not be getting the much needed attention and direction from their mother and father. younger ones are being raised for the most part by their older siblings. this has become a media event and a very successful business for mom & dad. a bit sad for these children. if they got to vote.......and think they would have opted for more one on one with a mom & dad.

I'm not so sure. What I've almost universally heard from children of large families (incuding ones in my own extended family) is that they loved growing up with lots of siblings and wouldn't trade it for the world. The only person out of the dozens I've encountered who didn't like it was the oldest teen of a large family.

As a school teacher, I've seen only children and those who only have 1 or 2 siblings get less parent time than the Duggar children get with their parents. I've had parents who "forgot" to pick their child up from school at 10:00 at night because they were busy doing other things. I've had parents who have told me that it was my responsibility to teach their child right and wrong, because I'm a teacher. As long as the Duggars continue to teach their children the good morals they are learning, I see them as much better parents than many of the so called parents who leave the moral education of their children up to people who see them for 40 minutes a day.
